First Heat Recovery Unit Installed at Carnarvon
Perth, Mar 22, 2012 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) has installed the first heat recovery unit (HRU) at the Carnarvon project in Western Australia.
The HRU is the first to be designed, manufactured and installed by Enerji as part of the Opcon Powerbox waste heat to power system.
Recent cyclone activity and inclement weather at Carnarvon has delayed installation by approximately one month. This is due to the reliance on cranes lifting units into place over the top of the existing power plant.
Commissioning at the Carnarvon project is now expected at the end of April.
Other work at the site is progressing as expected including assembly of the cooling tower, concreting and installation of water pumps and pipe works.
The Carnarvon Power Station is in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. Following installation by Enerji, revenue will be generated through selling the electricity created by the Opcon Powerbox. The Powerbox has the capacity to increase the power station's energy output by up to 700kW without burning additional fuel or creating emissions.
Further construction updates, highlights and milestones will be announced in due course. For more photographs documenting the installation of Enerji's first waste heat to power system go to:
