Asian Activities Report for November 9, 2011: White Energy Company Limited (ASX:WEC) Updates on Tabang Coal Mine Operation in Indonesia
Sydney, Nov 9, 2011 AEST (ABN Newswire) - White Energy Company Limited (ASX:WEC) says today that a number of key engineering modifications are currently underway to enable the 1 million tonne per annum coal upgrading plant at the Tabang coal mine in Indonesia to run at its design capacity. The modifications to date have been successful in proving the technical application of White Energy's BCB technology, which upgrades sub-bituminous coals using a novel binderless briquetting process. The Company is in talks with several other Indonesian coal producers regarding the adoption of its BCB technology.
Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) has further extended the mineralisation at its Paulsens Gold Mine in Western Australia. Another round of outstanding drilling results, including 638 grams per tonne, will contribute towards a resource upgrade and subsequent upgraded mine plan, production forecasts and cashflow projections. New mine plan will form part of Northern Star's strategy to grow production from 80,000 ounces per annum to 200,000 ounces per annum.
Haranga Resources Limited (ASX:HAR) has increased its interest in the Selenge Iron Ore Project in Mongolia to 80%. Ongoing drilling at the project has intersected significant widths of iron mineralisation. The Company is aiming to define an initial JORC Code compliant resource by early 2012.
Avonlea Minerals Limited (ASX:AVZ) has successfully completed the initial drilling program on Christiana Farm located within Abenab EPL 4416 in Northern Namibia. The area hosts the historical Abenab Vanadium mine and a number of rare earth elements targets. The Company will continue additional regional exploration to further test the rare earth elements potential within this area.
