ABN Newswire Stocks to Watch: March 26, 2010
Sydney, Mar 26, 2010 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Bandanna Energy Limited (ASX:BND), through their wholly owned subsidiary Springsure Creek Coal Pty Ltd, announced an increase in their JORC compliant resources at EPC 891 (Springsure Creek) to 304.7 million tonnes. The resource represents an approximate 30% increase over the 239 million tonnes reported October 2008. Springsure Creek is 100% owned by Bandanna's wholly owned subsidiary Springsure Creek Coal Pty Ltd.
Fufeng Group Limited (HKG:0546), a leading vertically integrated manufacturer of corn-based biochemical products in China, said it recorded high annual results for the year ended 31 December 2009. Profit attributable to the shareholders in 2009 was approximately RMB928.3 million, representing an increase of approximately RMB633.6 million or 215.0% as compared with that of 2008. The group also said it has planned to establish new production lines in the north-east of China and a new manufacturing base is to be built in the transition of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Heilongjiang Province.
Brickworks Limited (ASX:BKW) posted a normal net profit after tax (NPAT) of A$57 million for the half year ended 31 January 2010, up 12.1% from A$50.8 million on the previous corresponding period. Brickworks' half year headline NPAT (including non-regular items) was A$88.2 million, down 65.5% from the previous corresponding period. Brickworks said its full year result is expected to be solid due to lower interest expense as a result of the conservative level of gearing and the improving performance of the Building Products division. This is also due to the initial signs of recovery that are already evident in the housing market and the expansion of the Building Products division into new growth areas.
