ACBW 2012 Strengthening Business Ties between Australia and China

Sydney, Aug 7, 2012 AEST (ABN Newswire) - It has become a familiar story: China is booming. The country's growing domestic demand and emerging buying power, as an inevitable result of rising incomes, has kept attracting foreign investors and companies. China's positive growth outlook has paint an optimistic picture for foreign businesses, however, it is not easy to cash in on the market due to its unique features. With Australia continuing its economic engagement with China, it has become more crucial than ever for local businesses to understand this vast market.

Australia-China BusinessWeek (ACBW) 2012, organized by Australian Business Forum, is a major national business event set to strengthen Sino-Australian business relations across all industry sectors and establish valuable B2B connections between the two countries. In its forth successful year, ACBW 2012 continues to help local business understand critical aspects of engaging in business with China, and on the other hand, offer Chinese entrepreneurs an excellent insight into the Australian business sector.

This year, ACBW 2012 will be presented in Sydney for the very first time on 29th August at Shangri-La Hotel, following its triumph in Melbourne at the end of May attracting over 600 delegates and visitors together with sponsors and partners.

ACBW 2012 Sydney is a one-day event consisting of Breakfast, Luncheon, Forums and Mix at Six Networking Function sections. As as an official partner of Department of Foreign Affairs "40 Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and China" this year, the event will welcome key Australian and Chinese governors while offering a networking platform for business owners and C level executives. The Hon Andrew Stoner MP, Deputy Premier of NSW, Minister for Trade and Investment, Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Services will present the keynote address and launch the event at the Breakfast; and Duan Jielong, Consulate General of PRC-Sydney will present the keynote address at ACBW Luncheon and celebrate the long-term relations between Australia and China.

Unlike most of the other business events, ACBW Forums are tailor made for local businesses who are about to enter or have already engaged in China, as well as Chinese entrepreneurs and brand managers who want to expand into Australian market. The former will provide an understanding on cultural differences and how to manage brand, people and money in the unique China market; while the later, presented in Mandarin, will help local and overseas Chinese delegates learn how to invest, migrate and do business in Australian market.

Key speakers at the forums include:

- The Hon Warwick Smith AM, Chairman of Australia-China Council Board; Chairman of ANZ Bank
