Despite the global drop in foreign direct investment, China's ODI has been on the rise over the past five years, and China ranked as the fifth largest investor worldwide in 2012. At the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2013, President Xi Jinping said that China's accumulative ODI in the next five years will reach $500 billion, while the country set a target of 15 % for ODI growth in 2013.
Australia-China BusinessWeek (ACBW) 2012, organized by Australian Business Forum, is a major national business event set to strengthen Sino-Australian business relations across all industry sectors and establish valuable B2B connections between the two countries.
China over the last ten years has had a profound impact on Australia, given Australia's resources base and its small market influenced by global trends and shifts in world production patterns. The impact will only become greater as China's economy continues to grow and by 2050, as many predict, will be the largest in the world.
China's economy grew a more-than-estimated 9.7 per cent and industrial value-added output grew 14.4 percent year on year in the first quarter of this year. Chinese investment is playing an important role to drive exploration and mining in Australia. ABF is delighted to invite you to hear first hand the updated results of the China & Australia Investment Attraction Strategy in Australia-China Business Week (ACBW) 2011.
