Sydney, Mar 26, 2010 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Texon Petroleum Limited (ASX:TXN) said that its first Mosman-Rockingham well has encountered oil and gas shows in the Olmos reservoir at the expected depth of 2,806 metres (9,205 feet). The oil and gas shows in the well are of the same type as and are over a thickness similar to the Olmos reservoir at Leighton where Texon has 5 Olmos producing wells. Texon has a 95% working interest (71.25% net revenue interest) in the Mosman-Rockingham Project.
Mt Isa Metals Limited (ASX:MET) said that the 2010 exploration drilling campaign has commenced within the Leichardt Exploration Project. The Leichardt Exploration Project comprises multiple tenements / tenement applications located approximately midway between Mt Isa and Cloncurry in north-west Queensland. The area is noted for a high concentration of historical copper workings and a number of recent major copper-gold discoveries.
Republic Gold Limited (ASX:RAU) said the company had a number of positive meetings with potential banking and financial partners when a delegation from its Board of Directors accompanied by the Company's advisors went to the Prospectors and Dealers Association Conference ("PDAC") in Toronto from 6th to 10th March 2010. Based on strong investor interest from North America, Republic is also examining the benefits of listing the Company's fully paid shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Republic is looking to appoint the Toronto based investment bank, Jennings Capital Inc, to work with the Company's Australian stockbroker, Patersons Securities Limited, to raise the equity to fund the Project.
