Heijmans NV (AMS:HEIJM) Amersfoort - Meander Medisch Centrum and Heijmans have entered into an agreement to jointly prepare the construction of a new hospital on the Maatweg in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. It is a step towards final contract award. Together with the architect, Atelier Pro, Heijmans and Meander will start work on optimizing the currently available design. During the coming months the parties will investigate how the building can be constructed and at what cost.
Heijmans NV (AMS:HEIJM) Sustainable energy system for Buurtstede residential district ''s-Hertogenbosch - Heijmans Infrastructure was selected by Duurzame Energie Veenendaal-Oost (DEVO) to design and build a sustainable energy facility for the new Buurtstede residential district in Veenendaal Oost. The award also includes a thirty-year maintenance contract. Residents are expected to save at least 15 percent on their energy bills as a result of the energy system. The contract is valued at over € 21 million, including a thirty-year maintenance contract valued at over €10 million.

Mr. Witzel (57 years) possesses extensive and in-depth experience in the civil works contracting sector. Between 1998-2008 he was chairman of the Strukton Groep N.V.'s Executive Board.

Heijmans NV (AMS:HEIJM) While revenues increased by 2%, Heijmans' profit after tax for the first six months of 2008 dropped to €2 million (1st half 2007: €19 million). Losses incurred by the Building and Infrastructure divisions in the Netherlands and by building and property development activities in Belgium depressed the result. The Property Development and Technical Services divisions in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Franki Grundbau in Germany posted good results. In spite of the poor results, Heijmans amply met its financing ratios at the end of June 2008.
