Announces Third Commercial Deployment in China
Melbourne, May 24, 2017 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Emefcy Group Limited (ASX:EMC) (EMFGF:OTCMKTS), a global leader in energy-efficient wastewater treatment solutions, today announced its third commercial success in China, as part of a broader long-term cooperation agreement with Qingshuiyuan Environmental Company ("QSY"). According to the agreement, the first of a series of anticipated deployments, involves construction of an MABR plant in Xinjiang Province with a capacity of up to 500,000 liters/day. The Parties expect construction details to be finalized and communicated within the next 90 days. The QSY project will benefit from Emefcy's packaged solution approach whereby a fully pre-specified plant will be provided for QSY to assemble.
The cooperation agreement further specifies development work in Henan Province, with the potential to expand to additional projects in Xinjiang and Sichuan provinces. This agreement further outlines the successful cooperation with RWL Water on specific projects including seawater reclamation and waste-to-energy applications in those provinces and beyond. In early May, RWL Water and Emefcy announced their intended merger, which upon consummation will create Fluence Corporation, a global leader in distributed water treatment solutions. The agreement announced today will continue with the merged entity.
QSY Environmental General Manager Mr. Yonghui Liu commented: "We view joint cooperation for commercial deployments with Emefcy and RWL Water as a key strategic relationship that tremendously enhances QSY's business solutions for its clients in both the municipal and industrial segments. The ability to treat wastewater at a fraction of the operating costs using the MABR solution is very attractive for our clients, and enables us to strongly differentiate ourselves, which we expect to result in extensive deployment of packaged MABR solutions."
Liu continued, "The additional offerings from RWL of the Nirobox and anaerobic digestion solutions further strengthen this partnership both locally and internationally. We are very excited to bring together QSY's financial PPP platform and EPC know-how with Emefcy's and RWL Water's technology and system solutions."
All three parties to the agreement expect rapid growth in deployments, due to several key factors. The parties calculate a significant market opportunity in the target provinces over the next five years, with the market potential for MABR based solutions estimated at over US$2.6 billion in sales. Furthermore, the parent company of QSY has advised it has significant financing capacity, which can enable the rapid deployment of projects.
