Managing Director Joey Lim a Keynote Speaker at Major Vietnam Tourism Conference

ASX:DNA) is pleased to announce that its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Joey Lim, was a keynote speaker at a major conference on investment and tourism development in the Lao Cai area of Vietnam, held on the weekend of 7-8 May 2016. Lao Cai is the location of Donaco's flagship property, the Aristo International Hotel.
Mr Lim welcomed the new Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr Trinh Dinh Dung, at the conference.
One major area of focus at the conference was the proposal for a new international airport in Lao Cai, which is expected to commence operations by 2020. The Lao Cai airport is designed to become a 4C standard airport for both civil and military use, and will be able to receive A320, A321, and equivalent aircraft. Once completed, the airport will have an annual capacity of 560,000 passengers and 600 tonnes of freight.
The airport will be able to handle flights to all domestic airports, as well as certain international airports, including Indonesia (Jakarta), Singapore, Malaysia, China (Kunming), and Laos (Vientiane).
In the future, Lao Cai airport will also encompass a specialised terminal on a 10,000 square metre space. By 2030, its capacity will increase to 1.58 million passengers and 2,880 tonnes of freight per year.
Mr Lim stated "The proposal to build an airport in Lao Cai would have a very positive impact on the Aristo International Hotel. It will assist in the ongoing development of the local area into a hub for tourism and logistics.
"The expressway from Noi Bai airport in Hanoi to Lao Cai has already improved tourist access to the Aristo immensely. Having a direct flight to Lao Cai would be a big saving in terms of time. So visitors will stay longer and will spend more money."
Donaco owns and operates the Aristo International Hotel located in Lao Cai City. The venue has 400 guest rooms, currently operates 40 gaming tables and 58 gaming machines, and is located approximately 34 kilometres from the proposed new airport development.
