Squarefoot Celebrates 10th Anniversary with "BEST OF THE BEST AWARDS 2015" Presentation Ceremony
Hong Kong, June 1, 2015 AEST (ABN Newswire) - The presentation ceremony for Squarefoot.com.hk's "BEST OF THE BEST AWARDS 2015" was held today. 2015 marks the sixth consecutive year the awards have been held as well as the 10th anniversary of Squarefoot.
The "BEST OF THE BEST AWARDS", aims at recognising companies and individuals who have gone the extra mile in making a difference in property related industries. Since its launch in 2010, the awards programme has recognised over 100 companies and individuals for their excellence. This is the sixth year that Squarefoot.com.hk has hosted the awards, but the first year the portal is doing so as a member of the iProperty Group. Squarefoot.com.hk is proud to announce five main award categories for the professional property industries and 19 individual awards, including Best Property Agent (Hong Kong), Best Property Agent (Overseas), Best Property Project, Best Professional Service and Best Design and Lifestyle Service.
This year, Century 21 was presented with the "Best Property Agent Brand" award, while The Visionary, the residential property project in Tung Chung, took the "Best Property Project" award. The "Best Serviced Apartment" award was presented to Gateway Apartments, and Harriman Property Management Ltd. was named "Best Property Management Hong Kong". The winners' outstanding achievements set them apart from their peers to earn them the prestigious accolades.
According to information from the Estate Agents Authority in late April this year, the number of Statements of Particulars of Business issued for estate agency premises was 6,247, while the total number of estate agent licences was 35,377. Additionally, the number of residential building units submitted for registration was 4,549 in the same period with a total amount of HK$34.9 billion. These figures underscore the fierce competition in the property market and highlight the ever-increasing standards of client service and professional excellence in the industry.
Outbound property investment is a growing trend as well. According to the recent data, China and Hong Kong are among the top three countries investing in overseas properties. Furthermore, there is a direct relationship between Hong Kong students studying abroad and overseas property investment, as parents often buy overseas property for their children's future. The UK and Australia have become the most popular places for their overseas investment. According to figures from the Census and Statistics Department in 2014, there were over 75,000 persons (aged 25 or below) who were studying outside of Hong Kong. Of these, about 19,400 (25.9% of total) chose to study in the UK and about 18,000 (23.7% of total) chose Australia. As demand for overseas properties continues to rise, more and more overseas developers and agents are coming to Hong Kong to promote their projects.
