Director Appointment
Perth, Jan 29, 2014 AEST (ABN Newswire) - West African Resources Limited (ASX:WAF) (TSE:WAF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jean-Marc Lulin to the position of Non-Executive Director.
Mr. Lulin is a senior mining executive with 30 years of experience in North America, Africa and Europe. Since June 2003, Mr. Lulin has been as President, CEO and Director of TSXV listed company Azimut Exploration Inc. Mr Lulin was formerly the President and COO for Channel Resources (1996-2001), Vice President West Africa for Channel Resources (1995-1996) and has extensive West African experience.
Mr. Lulin was involved in the discoveries of several important deposits, notably the Bombore, Bouroum and Goulagou gold deposits in Burkina Faso with Channel Resources. Mr. Lulin was instrumental in strengthening the initial wave of exploration in Burkina Faso during the 1990s. He was co-founder of the Burkinabe Mining Association and president of the Technical Commission of the World Bank-MIGA 6th African Mining Symposium. Mr. Lulin was Associate Professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal (1992-1995) and was a consultant for The World Bank. He also acted as President for Quebec's Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ) in 2011-2012.
Mr. Lulin holds a Doctorate in Economic Geology from the Université d'Orléans (1984), and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Mineral and Energy Resources (1981), a Master's degree in Applied Geology (1980) and a Licence in Earth Sciences (1979) from the Université Paris VI, France.
