Melbourne, May 4, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Rex Minerals Limited (ASX:RXM) is a company that has spent the past 18 months actively exploring six project areas which cover a wide range of commodities.
Rex has rapidly passed through the early discovery phase of exploration and assessment and is now focused on two key projects that Rex believes offer the opportunity to become significant new mining operations. These Projects are the focus of this presentation.
In the first quarter of 2009 Rex made significant copper discoveries in its two cornerstone projects, which are on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia and at Mt Carrington in New South Wales.
In South Australia, Rex has intersected multiple thick and high grade copper mineralisation at the Hillside project. This project is situated on a large structure called the Pine Point Fault which potentially hosts a series of large scale copper deposits which we believe could form the basis of a new large and long lived mining operation in South Australia. This potential, combined with the obvious advantages that come from having a project near the coast, with existing port facilities and other key infrastructure is the foundation of the future growth of Rex.
Rex also owns a gold-silver-copper project in north-eastern NSW called Mt Carrington. Rex has recently discovered shallow and high grade copper at Mt Carrington which we believe could add significant value to the existing gold and silver Resources at this project.
Both projects offer different opportunities in terms of their potential scale and the time frame before a development opportunity can be realized. This presentation will explain the potential of each project and the plan to realize this opportunity.
