Perth, Mar 10, 2009 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Following the highly successful diamond drilling programme carried out at the beginning of the year, Northern Mining limited (ASX:NMI) announces that a 2,000m reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme is due to commence at E25/268 before the end of March 2009.
The programme will focus on the southern and northern gold targets where gold values up to 39.82g/t Au in BNRC033 (northern zone) and 34.55g/t Au in BNRC020 (southern zone) were intercepted from previous diamond and RC drilling programmes.
Southern Zone Gold Target

25 metres downhole* (from 99m to 124m) @ 4.05g/t Au, including internal high grade zones of 10m (from 107m to 117m) @ 8.39g/t Au.
Northern Zone Gold Target
Hole BNRC017
24 metres downhole* (from 36m to 60m) @ 2.16g/t Au, including an internal high grade zone of 8m (from 37m to 45m) @ 5.64g/t Au.
Recent diamond drilling results from the southern zone confirmed the continuity of the upper and lower lodes and highlighted the potential for high grade gold shoots locally and in the region. Early results indicated that the mineralised system is open in a northerly direction and requires further drilling to determine its full extent. The aim of the impending programme is to extend the zone of gold mineralisation along strike from previous intercepts.
NMI is negotiating an agreement with a private group of investors to fund the drilling programme in return for the right to earn a 10% interest in the East Kalgoorlie Project, once the Farm-in conditions with Cazaly Resources Limited have been met.
All programmes are designed and supervised by Newexco Services Pty Ltd (Newexco).
Note * These are single hole intercepts into different mineralised occurrences and as such it is not possible to determine the orientation of the holes to the mineralisation. No meaningful, true width estimates of the mineralisation can therefore be made at this stage, as the attitude of the mineralised body is not known.
