Veidekke ASA (OSL:VEI) Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to build a new public transport junction at Økern in Oslo. The contract price is NOK 231 million excluding VAT. Construction work starts immediately and shall be completed by February 2011.
The work includes the upgrading of Økern metro station with new, longer platforms with water-borne heating. In addition, the walls around the station are to be restructured and access ramps are to be established up to the future Ulvenveien that will span the station area by way of a bridge.
Work on the public transport junction at Økern is part of the Ring 3 Ulven - Sinsen Road Project, where Veidekke Entreprenør was awarded a contract to build the 900 metre long Løren Tunnel in August.
