Bisnode The PSI Alliance calls for the rapid development of Public Sector Information (PSI) re-use activities across Europe, stimulating the development of a fair, innovative, dynamic and competitive marketplace, and releasing the considerable economic and social benefits which are currently very under-exploited. At the annual meeting in Brussels, Rolf Nordqvist from Bisnode has been elected as the organisation's new Board Chairman.
The Alliance will work closely with PSI providers to achieve its ends. Its wider activities will include monitoring and commenting on developments relating to intellectual property rights and Competition Law. The Alliance will engage with politicians at the EU and member state level through an extensive contact program with the aim of briefing regulators about the need to enforce the existing re-use of PSI policy. In the coming months, the number one priority for the PSI Alliance will be to work together with the Commission, the Council and the European Parliament towards a strengthened Directive for the Re-Use of PSI during the review process.
Rolf Nordqvist works in Bisnode's Venture & Development business unit and is responsible for PSI-related matters in the Bisnode Group. Nordqvist has been responsible for building the Swedish National Company Register and as business area manager was responsible for development of the Swedish online service InfoTorg. He has also been active as managing director of companies in the direct marketing field and inquiry services. Nordqvist holds a Master of Political Sciences from the University of Stockholm.

It is difficult for SMEs active in the market bite the hand that feeds them, and political action is needed to breed dynamism in the sector. Only political decision-makers can enforce change, and this is where the PSI Alliance comes in. We need a strong, pan-European industry action group to push for change of the PSI marketplace and realise its real potential," says Rolf Nordqvist, the PSI Alliance's Board Chairman.
