Bowen Energy Limited (ASX:BWN) South Blackwater Project Drilling Update

Brisbane, April 29, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - The board of Bowen Energy Limited (ASX: BWN) has previously announced that drilling has commenced on the Blackwater South Project EPC1045 "Shotover". The drilling rig supplied by JD Drilling commenced drilling at the southern end of the lease targeting coal seams of the Bandana Formation (Rangal Coal Measure Equivalent) on the eastern limb of the Purbrook Anticline.

Following completion of the first drilling 'Hitch', three holes have been completed in the south western region of EPC1045. These holes are SH30, SH28 and SH28A. Bowen Energy is pleased to announce that this wide spaced drilling has intersected multiple coal seams within the Bandana Formation at depths similar to those predicted in our geological models for the region.

While these early results are encouraging details of coal seam thickness and coal quality data are not confirmed or known at this stage. Interpretation of down-hole geophysical logging and coal quality analytical data will be required to determine these aspects of the coal intersected so far in the program.
