Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) advises that the Joann #1 well was drilled to total depth (TD) of 11,750 feet (~3,580m) over the weekend. Good hydrocarbon shows were encountered in the primary reservoir zone of the Lower Wilcox sands which resulted in gas cut mud and gas being flared to surface. Based on the mudlogs, the shows were experienced over a 40 foot interval of reservoir sands exhibiting good indications of liquid hydrocarbons with up to 30% yellow fluorescence and yellow streaming cut fluorescence.
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) releases Wilcox drilling update.
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) advises that production casing has been run into the hole and cemented into place for the Moeller #1 well. The Big 6 drilling rig has been released from site for the recently announced spud of the third Wilcox well in the program being the Joann #1.
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) is pleased to advise that the Joann #1 well, the third Wilcox well in the current program, has been spudded using the Big 6 drilling rig. The Joann #1 well is located within the main Colorado County Project 3D seismic area, will target Lower Wilcox reservoir sands and is expected to be drilled to a total depth of approximately 11,750 feet (3,850m).
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) advises that a decision has been made to complete the Moeller #1 well for production. A proposed drill stem test (DST) on the uppermost 20 foot section of the primary Wilcox reservoir sands could not be completed due to unstable hole conditions.
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) advises that the electric logs from the Moeller #1 well have been acquired and have revealed the presence of an interval of gas saturated sands. Whilst further interpretation of these logs is currently being undertaken they do indicate potential net pay in excess of 50 feet and the US operators, AKG Energy, have advised that a drill stem test (DST) will be run to test the uppermost 20 foot section of the primary Wilcox reservoir sands. Assuming no operational issues the results of the DST are expected within the next 36 hours and a further update will be provided once the results are known.
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) advises that the Moeller #1 well was drilled to total depth (TD) of 12,750 feet (3,886m) over the weekend. Good hydrocarbon shows were noted in the mudlogs around the original anticipated TD of 12,500 feet (3,810mm) and as a result the well was drilled to a slightly deeper total depth. This additional drilling together with slight operational delays on site have meant that electric wireline logging is being undertaken but is currently not complete as at 6am on Sunday 6 June, 2010 (Texas time).
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) advises that as at 6am on Monday 31 May 2010 (Texas time) the Moeller #1 well was at a depth of 12,002 feet (3,658m) and drilling ahead towards an anticipated total depth (TD) of 12,500 feet (3,810m). Based on the mudlogs from the well, numerous hydrocarbon shows have been encountered through the reservoir targets of the Wilcox sands. It should be noted, however, that the quality and significance of these hydrocarbon shows cannot be accurately determined until the well has reached TD, electric logs have been run through the reservoir zones and the joint venture has had time to interpret these logs.
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) advises that, during the past week, intermediate logs were run and casing set and cemented at 11,229 feet (3,422 metres) on the Moeller #1 well. As of 10 am on 24 May, 2010 (Texas time), the well operation was preparing to drill out and test the casing shoe before drilling ahead towards the target Wilcox reservoir. A two day delay was experienced in the past week due rig to repairs, but these have been completed, and it is anticipated that the well will reach its total planned depth of 12,500 feet (3,810 metres) within 7 to 10 days.
Burleson Energy Limited (ASX:BUR) advises that, as of 2PM on 17 May, 2010 (Texas time), the Moeller #1 well was drilling ahead at a depth of ~11,200 feet (~3,414 metres). The plan is to drill ahead another ~ 3 metres then run electric logs. After logging, intermediate casing will be run and cemented, then drilling will resume to the target objective.
