Kirin Brewery Company, Ltd. (TSE: 2503/ US: NBWY) was formally established in 1907 with a history as a brewer stretching back more than a hundred years. Manufacturer and retailer of beer, non-alcoholic beverages, dairy products, pharmaceuticals and agricultural produce. The Group also distributes Coca-Cola, Scotch whiskey, French wine, brandy and champagne. Beer accounted for 70% of 2000 revenues; soft drinks and other drinks, 20% and pharmaceuticals, engineering and other, 10%.

昨日澳洲最大软饮料生产商可口可乐阿玛提尔(Coca-Cola Amatil)(ASX:CCL)断然拒绝了Lion Nathan Ltd(ASX:LNN)的近80亿澳元收购要约，该项收购没能获得持有30%股份的股东亚特兰大可口可乐公司(NYSE:KO)的支持。但是Lion Nathan的首席执行官Rob Murray对这项收购非常坚持，并表示公司将会勇于在如今的经济环境下继续投入资金。
