Signs Enterprise Agreement with EPFC Corp

Calgary, Feb 17, 2017 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Aconex Limited (googlechartASX:ACX) (googlechartACNXF:OTCMKTS), provider of the #1 global platform connecting teams on construction and engineering projects, today announced an enterprise agreement with EPFC Corp, an integrated engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction (EPFC) firm specializing in oil and gas projects. Under the three-year agreement, EPFC will implement Aconex project-wide collaboration solutions to manage data and processes across internal and external teams.

"We integrate construction with the early stages of engineering to increase accuracy and efficiency while maintaining high quality standards, with the goal of reducing project duration and cost," said EPFC Chief Operating Officer Jeff Schoenhals. "A comprehensive document control and communications management platform with strong reporting capabilities is critical to our streamlined approach, which helps us manage client expectations and ensure prompt payment. Our partnership with Aconex will not only meet our requirement to automate and standardize processes but also add value to our clients' businesses."

EPFC was formed in 2016 from the merger of two leading oil and gas industry suppliers - S.A.W. Engineering Ltd., an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) firm, and Propipe Group Ltd., a mechanical, electrical and instrumentation shop fabrication and field construction company. The two companies had collaborated successfully on projects of mutual clients.

Collaboration for Successful Project Delivery

EPFC believes that integrating engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction processes in every step of a project, without compromising quality or safety, is key to successful delivery on time and within budget. This business model requires a single project information management platform, based in the cloud, that drives efficient collaboration across the entire supply chain.

The Aconex platform helps EPFC project teams work together seamlessly on a common set of processes across offices and site locations. From corresponding with manufacturing partners to obtaining real-time, on-site progress reports, information delivery is immediate and consistent. Aconex provides a significantly more reliable, secure and efficient solution than the combination of commercial email, FTP sites and document storage devices previously used by EPFC.

"In our model, everyone is engaged in all stages of the project, which generates a great deal more paperwork and correspondence, and involves sharing large volumes of documents with multiple revisions," said EPFC Vice President of Engineering Serge Despres. "Aconex helps increase productivity and reduce risk by connecting our entire teams while structuring and accelerating the flow of information. We have high visibility from our various offices to our job sites."

EPFC is currently using Aconex to manage supplier documentation, progress reporting, squad checks, and other critical workflows, resulting in higher value to clients. The user-friendly platform minimizes administrative overhead and human error, allowing a reduction in person hours with higher work output. The increased efficiency and productivity also benefit external service providers and vendors, which can easily share and receive up-to-the-minute information. The result is stronger engineering execution at lower cost.

Long-Term Partnerships with Clients

While its business model is unique, EPFC's key differentiator lies in its commitment to collaboration with clients. EPFC believes in building stronger, long-term client relationships through transparency and accountability in all communications, both upstream and downstream.

"We are committed to investing in technology for continuous improvement of systems and processes," added Mr. Despres. "Our clients see value in the scalability, flexibility and adaptability that Aconex offers at various project stages. We plan to expand our use of the platform and its different modules as our project, portfolio and enterprise needs evolve."

Prior to signing the enterprise agreement, EPFC had used Aconex on the design and construction of the Townsend natural gas processing facility in northeastern British Columbia, which was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. Aconex is also being used by the Townsend facility during the operation and maintenance phase of the project.

"EPFC is driving innovation in the way that projects are managed in the oil and gas industry," said Frank Kopas, general manager of the Americas region at Aconex. "The company's model of integrating construction and engineering to streamline processes and improve performance is closely aligned with the Aconex value proposition. We look forward to helping EPFC achieve its mission to deliver successful projects with higher productivity, lower cost and better quality."
