Commences Gold Reef and Gold/Ironstone Deposit Mapping at Dalmorton Goldfields
Sydney, Mar 16, 2013 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Gold Royalty Company, Revolution Metals, a minerals and resources company focussing on developing mineral assets in Australia, announces that it has commenced a field mapping of gold reefs, known gold deposits and previous mine dumps at EL4742, 67 Kilometres west of Grafton NSW.
A total of approximately 40 known mining operations and shafts in the area are target for the program with the initial mapping of Mt Remarkable, Mt Remarkable North and Pine Creek now underway. Samples from mullock heaps taken from these locations have been retrieved for multi-element assay. Diamond drill core from historic exploration drilling between 1981 and 1986 has been located and will be re-assayed along with field samples to provide current multi-element information for the mineralisation in these areas.
Earlier work by Little River GoldFields NL attempted to identify the source of the gold in the Dalmorton goldfields as related to the nearby Dacite occurrences. A microprobe analysis of sample material taken at the time concluded that Dacite was not the source for the gold in this region. Further research on a source for the area's widespread gold mineralisation will focus on "Intrusive Related Gold System" (IRGS) models, as there are many similarities between known IRGS occurrences and the Dalmorton Goldfields.
The Pine Creek lode has a previously defined resource of 232,000 Tonnes of ore yielding 26,000 ounces of gold within a chert/ironstone formation. The company plans to extend the existing Pine Creek resource, as there are strong indications that the deposit continues to the north west, and vertically below the existing ore lode.
The photograph to the right, taken in March 2013, shows ferric materal leaching directly from the "Pine Creek Lode". Red staining can be easily seen coming from the mineralised gold-bearing host rock.
