Former karate champion Jessica Bratich Johnson decided to take her knowledge of fashion and start her own collection of handbags daringly different to any other brand on the market. From the bright tropical colours to the edgy zips for multiple pockets, the new collection of 12 have that 'need to have one now' effect on shoppers.

"It's all in the detail. When designing the bags, I made sure I addressed all the things a woman would want in a bag: style, functionality, colour and individuality," she says. "The bags are also very versatile, easily making the transformation from a day bag to a night bag and perfect for long summer evenings.

Her bags are designed entirely by herself and ooze quality from the sewing thread to the final outfit. Made out of real leather, they feature top quality stitching. "Quality is key in today's world of fashion," says Bratich Johnson.

Working hard behind the scenes to get her label up and running, her dream has finally become reality. "It's been a huge learning curve and it wasn't an easy ride, but I wouldn't change it for the world. It's great to see the designs materialise and I'm really excited about growing my brand."

Eagerly looking forward to seeing her products carried down the catwalk at Savoir Faire Perth Fashion Week, Bratich Johnson comments, "I think it's going to be a great opportunity to showcase my new collection and gain feedback from other designers who have been in the industry for quite a while."
