Kimberley Metals Limited (ASX:KBL) Announce Further High Grade Gold/Copper Results From Parkers Hill
Sydney, June 14, 2011 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Kimberley Metals Limited (ASX:KBL) announced today further results of the diamond drilling program underway at the Parkers Hill orebody at the Company's Mineral Hill project.
The program is designed to provide detailed geological, geotechnical and metallurgical data on the deposit, and increase the understanding of structural controls on mineralisation in preparation for mining. Assay results received to date for hole KMHDD009a are very positive, with a high grade Au-Cu interval located within the footwall zone of the Parkers Hill deposit below the current resource:
- 3.2 metre at 2.6% Cu, 0.2% Pb, 0.2% Zn, 6g/t Ag & 13.2g/t Au
Significant base metal results include:
- 11.2 metre at 2.2% Cu, 0.6% Pb, 1.0% Zn, 19g/t Ag & 0.9g/t Au
- 17 metre at 1.1% Cu, 1.7% Pb, 3.1% Zn, 7g/t Ag & 0.6g/t Au
The high grade Au-Cu results represent a similar style of mineralisation to the previously mined high grade Au-Cu Eastern Ore Zone (EOZ) deposit directly to the east of Parkers Hill. The occurrence of this style of mineralisation demonstrates the prospectivity of the Parkers Hill structural corridor, with mineralisation open at depth and along strike to the NE and SW.
Drill hole details and a full list of significant intersections are given in Table 1 below. Hole KMHDD009a is located 125m NNE (mine grid) of hole KMHDD008 (results released on 2 June 2011). Results from completed hole KMHDD010 are pending. Hole KMHDD009a was drilled towards the northern end of Parkers Hill and ore from this area is likely to be accessed shortly after mining commences in coming weeks.
