ABM Resources NL (ASX:ABU) Announces The Commencement Of Drilling At The Stafford Gold Zone

Perth, April 27, 2010 AEST (ABN Newswire) - ABM Resources NL (googlechartASX:ABU) is pleased to announce that drilling has commenced on its projects in the Tanami-Arunta Region of the Northern Territory.

The first drill program under the Company's 2010 drill campaign will focus on multiple targets at the 20 kilometre long Stafford Gold Zone located approximately 200 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs. The Company has commenced drilling selected targets at the Stafford Gold Zone. This work will focus on two Discovery Stage Projects - Sabre and Falchion, as well as conducting drill testing on early stage targets such as Assegai and Yataghan Prospects and is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks. A summary of the prospects to be drilled includes:

- Sabre Prospect - a 640metre by 200metre gold anomaly defined by shallow drilling to an average depth of 45metres and maximum depth of 156metres with previous drill results including:

26m @ 2.73g/t gold
15m @ 2.23g/t gold

- Falchion Prospect - a 400metre by 270metre gold anomaly defined by shallow drilling to an average depth of 33metres and maximum depth of 68metres with previous drill results including:

12m @ 3.76g/t gold
16m @ 3.67g/t gold

- Assegai Prospect - a 800metre by 200metre gold anomaly defined by shallow drilling to an average depth of 22metres and maximum depth of 30metres.

- Yataghan / Yataghan South Prospects - a 800metre by 400metre gold anomaly defined by shallow drilling to an average depth of 27metres and a maximum depth of 58metres.

The Company aims to drill considerably deeper than previous explorers to at least 250 metres with the aim to identify primary mineralisation beneath the oxide regolith profiles.

Managing Director, Mr Darren Holden, stated "The commencement of drilling is another exciting milestone in what has been a very busy year for the Company. The Stafford Gold Zone is a very extensive gold system with several prospects over a 20 kilometre strike length. Previous explorers had focused on the shallow oxide gold targets, however, ABM is focusing on much deeper drilling with the aim of discovering primary gold mineralisation in the fresh rock."

The Company has contracted Gorey & Cole Drillers Pty Ltd of Alice Springs to conduct the drilling using a multipurpose Reverse Circulation / Diamond Core Rig. A base camp has been established on the nearby Coniston Station and the Company has stationed two Project Geologists, a Logistics Manager and two Field Assistants as well as the drill-crew at the camp. All drill samples will be sent to ALS Chemex preparation laboratory in Alice Springs before being forwarded to ALS Chemex in Perth for gold fire-assay as well as multi-element analysis.

Following completion of the drilling on the Stafford Gold Zone the Company intends to move the drill rig and camp to the Twin Bonanza Project located near the Western Australia / Northern Territory border.
