Sprintex Limited Stock Market Press Releases and Company Profile

Perth, Dec 11, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Automotive Technology Group Limited (ASX: ATJ) signs agreement to evaluate exclusive distribution of Sprintex Supercharger in United Arab Emirates

Leading Australian clean automotive technology company Automotive Technology Group (ATG) (ASX:ATJ) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with leading United Arab Emirates (UAE) motor vehicle distribution group, Al-Futtaim Motors Company LLC, to evaluate ATG's Sprintex Supercharger product, with a view to securing exclusive distribution rights for Sprintex Supercharger systems in the UAE region.

A Prototype Evaluation Agreement between the groups was signed yesterday for the purpose of testing ATG's patented low emissions, high fuel efficiency Sprintex Supercharger in the UAE, as a first step towards both parties entering into an exclusive distribution agreement for the Sprintex Supercharger systems in the region.

Under the terms of the agreement ATG will develop and install a complete Sprintex Supercharger system on a standard motor vehicle from a major vehicle manufacturer at its technical facility in Western Australia. The Supercharger will then be fitted to a test vehicle of exact model and make, provided by Al Futtaim Motors, for full evaluation in the UAE.

The supercharger system will remain on the vehicle for 180 days in the UAE for the purpose of evaluation and testing by Al Futtaim Motors.

ATG will provide technical support in the UAE for the initial installation and testing phase, while Al Futtaim Motors will provide workshop facilities including a rolling road style dynamometer and a technician to assist in installation of the system in the UAE.

ATG Executive Director - Corporate Steven Apedaile said that increasing numbers of motor vehicle and motorcycle Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) were turning to Superchargers to help meet tougher emissions and fuel efficiency targets being enforced by governments globally.

"The Sprintex Supercharger achieves these two goals while ensuring the performance demanded by today's drivers is achieved despite the move to smaller capacity engines," Mr Apedaile said.

ATG is currently developing systems for various OEM automotive products and has successfully applied its patented Sprintex Supercharger to the Harley Davidson Vrod and Ducati Monster motorcycles, highlighting the application of Supercharging to the motorcycle industry as well as the automotive Industry.

Global pressure to meet emissions regulations is likely to increase in years ahead, and this is the driving philosophy behind ATG's Sprintex technology.

The Supercharger to be provided by ATG for the evaluation program in the UAE is a Series 4/335 Supercharger with manifold, additional injector, inter cooling, electronic control unit, supplementary wiring loom and air delivery system (including brackets and all ancillaries). The Sprintex Supercharger patented technologies and other protected intellectual property will remain the property of ATG during the period of the agreement with Al Futtaim Motors.
