Net Insight AB (STO:NETIB) Stockholm, Sweden - Net Insight has received an order for Nimbra equipment for radio distribution in KPN Broadcast's multiservice media network.
KPN Broadcast Services operates a large multi-service media network based on Net Insight's Nimbra platform. The network has been operational since the beginning of 2006 and utilizes most of the multi-service transport capabilities of the Nimbra platform. The network provides video, data and audio services including multicast distribution of TV programs for both digital terrestrial (DVB-T) and mobile TV (DVB-H), uncompressed video contribution between all major TV studios and contribution feeds from all football stadiums of the premier football league in the Netherlands.
KPN Broadcast Services has continuously been evolving the network and will now further extend its customer service offering by upgrading their FM networks for several customers. With the upgrade of the multiservice transport capabilities, fundaments are made for the future of digital radio (DAB) distribution. Net Insight will deliver Nimbra 360 nodes for distribution of the FM radio feeds and in the future digital radio feeds to additional transmitters.
