FORTIS (EBR:FORB) New transparency legislation was introduced recently, requiring notifications made by investors to the Belgian regulator (CBFA - Banking, Finance and Insurance Commission) and to Fortis to be disclosed by Fortis as required.
In this respect, Fortis announces that on 17 October, AllianceBernstein has notified having an interest in Fortis SA/NV of 3.71%, exceeding the threshold of 3%.
AllianceBernstein is a holding company of the AXA group with participating interests in companies active in asset management and asset services for the account of third parties. AllianceBernstein together with these companies for whom this notification is done are acting independently from all other entities of the AXA group, according to the conditions mentioned in article 11 ยง2 of the Law of 2 May 2007.

Confronted with a systemic financial crisis in 2008, Fortis has undergone a complete metamorphosis. Its banking and insurance activities have been acquired by the Dutch and Belgian States of which the non-Dutch activities will be acquired by BNP Paribas subsequently.
