The company had sales of USD 1.6 mill. and net profit of USD 100.000 in 2007. Claudio Pollon SA operates in the port of San Lorenzo and service the merchant fleet. The port of San Lorenzo near to Rosario, the second biggest city in Argentina, move all the grains including soya that Argentina is exporting. Argentina is the biggest soya producer in the world for bio-diesel purposes. San Lorenzo has an average of 12 ships by day loading soya for all over the world. Only the Claudio Pollon company is established in this port. The others ships suppliers are working from Buenos Aires which is 350 km from San Lorenzo.
This acquisition fits well into EMS strategy to develop a global maritime service provider within the ship supply and the ship management segments.The acquisition is a natural supplement to the mature acquisitions made in 2007 and 2008 and will strengthen EMS presence in South America.
