Cargotec Oyj (HEL:CGCBV) Cargotec Corporation, Press Release, August 26, 2008 at 10 a.m. Finnish time
Cargotec's MacGREGOR business area providing marine cargo handling and offshore load handling solutions has received significant offshore crane retrofit order. The order consists of two 150-tonne active heave compensated offshore cranes to Finnish shipowner Finstaship's two multi-service vessels Botnica and Nordica. The cranes will be delivered second half of 2010 from MacGREGOR facilities in Kristiansand, Norway. The order covers also a crew training programme.
The cranes will replace two existing cranes currently installed on the vessels. The new cranes enable operation in deeper waters and with better performance. The cranes will also be equipped with advanced features ensuring safe operation in harsh environment making Botnica and Nordica even better suited for arctic offshore duties.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the order value. In the third quarter of 2008, MacGREGOR's Offshore division has so far received orders worth 31 million EUR.
