Heijmans NV New development incorporating historical Waterland character 's-Hertogenbosch - Heijmans is to develop and build 300 homes over the next four years in the new Luijendijk-Zuid district located in the municipality of Landsmeer in North-Holland Province. In mid 2007, the municipality issued a European tender for an integral vision. The entire contract with Heijmans is valued at over €75 million. Work is expected to start at the end of 2008.
The Luijendijk-Zuid's master plan covers an area of roughly 10 hectares. Heijmans' proposal was prepared by a combination consisting of the Infrastructure and Property Development divisions. The work contracted by Heijmans includes site preparation, installation of services, the development and construction of over 300 homes, the associated infrastructure and the landscaping plan. In addition, Heijmans will organize the traffic flow at and near the project site during the work.
The district will be given the typical Waterland character derived from the architectural features that are typical of this North-Holland region. Aside from the Waterland grey-blue and the 'Zaan' green, historical elements, such as an old school and a former mayor's residence, will be added to the plan. These will be converted into apartments. The first homes in the district are expected to be delivered by the end of 2009. The project includes a mix of residential accommodations. In addition to single family homes and apartments for private sale, the future district will also include subsidized housing and rental homes.
