Revus Energy Revus Energy ASA (OSE:REVUS) announces today that the drilling of Well 32/2-1, on the Trow Prospect, has been completed. The well penetrated thick waterbearing Jurassic reservoir sands. No signs of hydrocarbons were encountered. The well will now be plugged and abandoned.
The Trow prospect is located in PL 369 east of the Troll Field. The licence was awarded in January 2006 as part of the APA 2005 licence round, and is operated by Talisman Energy Norge AS. The well was drilled by the semi submersible rig Transocean Winner. Revus has a 20 per cent interest in PL 369, together with Talisman Energy Norge AS (40 per cent), Det Norske Oljeselskap ASA (20 per cent) and Petro-Canada Norge AS (20 per cent).
The objective of the well was to evaluate the potential for hydrocarbons in the Upper Jurassic Sognefjord Formation reservoir. The vertical well was drilled to a depth of 1274 m below sea level and reached a total depth in rocks of Early Jurassic age. Well 32/2-1 is one of a few wells drilled east of the Troll Field and gives valuable information about the petroleum system for the further exploration of the eastern part of the North Sea.
Revus' drilling programme for the second half of 2008 includes the following prospects; "Ipswich" (ongoing well operations), "Jordbær" (currently drilling), "Torphins" (currently drilling), "Luno" (appraisal well), "Delta" and "Cladhan". Detailed information on the different prospects can be found on www.revus.no.
