The European Commission has set a fine of EUR 10.15 million on Finnish Chemicals Oy for antitrust activity in the company's sodium chlorate business during 1994-2000. Kemira Oyj acquired Finnish Chemicals in 2005.
Kemira told about a Statement of Objections in the matter on August 2, 2007.
The company will look into the Commission's decision and then decide on any further action. The fine set by the Commission will not affect Kemira's result or cash flow.
