Perth, May 13, 2008 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Northern Mining Limited (ASX: NMI) is pleased to announce the Company's mineral exploration consultants, Newexco Services Pty Ltd (Newexco), has identified a promising massive nickel sulphide target at the Blair North prospect located 30kms south east of Kalgoorlie.
The East Kalgoorlie Blair North prospect (E25/268) is jointly owned by Northern Mining earning 75% and Cazaly Resources (ASX:CAZ) earning 25%.
A recent downhole geophysical programme carried out by Newexco on a number of RC drill holes completed earlier this year at the Blair North prospect has revealed an off-hole DHTEM anomaly in BNRC008 at 170m with an interpreted source of high conductivity located up dip of the nickel sulphide intersection in Table 1 (see NMI Quarterly Report to 31 March 2008).

The source of the anomaly lies above and slightly south of BNRC008 (Figure 1). Its modelled size ranges from 20m x 30m with very high conductivity thickness of 5000S to 30m x 50m with lower conductivity thickness of 2000S - both being consistent with a massive sulphide source.
Because of its high conductivity, geological position and coincident geochemical response, this anomaly has been recommended by Newexco as a high priority drill target and should be tested in the first instance.
A drill hole has been designed by Newexco to intercept the modelled position of the source of this anomaly in the upcoming follow-up reverse circulation (RC) programme for the Blair North prospect.
Northern Mining's Executive Chairman, Mr Alan Lockett commented:
"As Newexco has an excellent track record in discovering nickel sulphides in the Yilgarn, (in particular Forrestania), we have great faith in Newexco's ability to find new nickel sulphides for our Company. "Northern Mining will commence drilling of the high priority drill target upon receipt of Programme of Work permits from the Department of Industry and Resources," Mr Lockett said.
The north-eastern portion of the licence is along strike to Southern Gold's (SAU) Bulong South Project, while the western portion lies stratigraphically above Bulong South (Figure 2).
Significant results announced by SAU in 2007 for Bulong South included: 2m @ 2.06% Ni from 52m, 2m @ 1.7% Ni from 56m, 10m @ 1.2% Ni, 14m @ 2.41g/t Au including 2m @ 12.1g/t Au. The nickel sulphide intersections contain elevated levels of cobalt, copper and gold.
RAB DRILLING PROGRAMME COMMENCES
EAST KALGOORLIE PROJECT, BLAIR PROSPECT (E26/112, E26/117, P26/3076)

A 4,000m rotary air blast (RAB) drilling campaign has commenced on the Blair prospect, 30km southeast of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, to test the potential for nickel sulphides and gold mineralisation in a favourable geological environment. Very little previous exploration is reported for this area. The programme has been designed and is being supervised by Newexco.
The Blair tenements, E26/112, E26/117 and P26/3076 abut Australian Mines Limited Blair Nickel Mine, where 15.800 tonnes @ 2.84% for 426 contained Ni tonnes were reported for the March 2008 quarter.
