Perth, Mar 29, 2006 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Eastland Medical Systems Ltd (ASX: EMS) this week commenced production of the new and unique Safe Veterinary Device "VetLok".
"VetLok" is a safe needle and syringe combination that incorporates features not yet seen in the Veterinary market.
"VetLok" is being released to the market as a result of an increasing awareness that safe needle devices are required by ALL medical workers including those involved in the veterinary field.
"VetLok" is a unique device which may be used as a pre-filled syringe in operations or used as a retractable syringe for blood drawing or injection of fluids On completion of a procedure, retraction of the needle can be performed by the operator without having to remove the syringe from the injection site. The risk of needlestick injury from the potentially dangerous contaminated needle can therefore be eliminated. Another feature of this device is that if the animal being treated becomes disturbed and upset, the procedure can be aborted with the device in safe mode and after the animal is settled, the procedure can be concluded without the loss of the treatment dose.
Eastland are in the process of installing two additional production lines to increase its output of components at its Joint Venture Facility. In keeping with the present production line technology, the lines will be fitted with individual temperature control systems, which ensure quality and specifications are maintained regardless of climate.
As Eastland expands its production into Africa, similar systems will be installed, ensuring identical and interchangeable product, and quality control throughout their Global Network. Eastland have now brought into production four products for release to market by the end of June 2006
