Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIQ) designs, develops, and manufactures solar wafers, cells and solar module products that convert sunlight into electricity for a variety of uses. The Company’s products include a range of standard solar modules built to general specifications for use in a range of residential, commercial and industrial solar power generation systems. 
The China CleanTech Index underperformed two of its four benchmarks for the month of August 2015 and recorded a loss of 10.3%. This was driven by big losses across all Chinese stocks due to the volatile Shanghai stock exchange.
The China CleanTech Index rose from 53.27 to 56.14 over the month of February recording a 5.4% gain. This compared to the NEX gain of 7.8%, the CTIUS gain of 9.3%, the Shanghai Composite gain of 3.2% and the MSCI gain of 5.7%.
The China CleanTech Index rose from 52.70 to 53.27 over the month of January recording a 1.1% gain. This compared to the NEX loss of 1.5%, the CTIUS loss of 3.3%, the Shanghai Composite loss of 0.7% and the MSCI loss of 1.9%.
The China CleanTech Index rose from 48.59 to 50.15 over the month of November recording a 3.2% gain. This compared to the NEX loss of 2.9%, the CTIUS gain of 1.4%, the Shanghai Composite gain of 10.8% and the MSCI gain of 1.8%.
The best performing sub-indices for the month were the China Hydro Index with a 6.5% gain and the China Wind Index with an 4.6% gain. The two weakest sub-indices through October were the China Environment Index and the China Waste Index that both recorded losses of 2.5%.
The China CleanTech Index rose from 46.8 to 47.8 over the month of September recording a 2.0% gain. This compared to the NEX loss of 6.6%, the CTIUS loss of 6.9%, the Shanghai Composite gain of 6.6% and the MSCI loss of 2.9%. The China CleanTech 20 recorded a 1.9% loss.
The best performing sub-indices for the month were the China Efficiency Index with a 13.0% gain and the China Storage Index with an 11.6% gain. The two weakest sub-indices through August were the China Waste Index which recorded a gain of only 4.5% and the China Water Index recording a gain of 5.5%.
The best performing sub-indices for the month were the China Hydro Index with a 6.7% gain and the China Efficiency Index with a 1.0% gain. The two weakest sub-indices through July were the China Storage Index which recorded a loss of 7.5% and the China Solar Index recording a loss of 7.3%.

This compared to the NEX loss of 2.5%, the CTIUS loss of 0.9%, the Shanghai Composite loss of 1.1% and the MSCI loss of 0.1%. The China CleanTech 20 fared worse with a loss of 5.7%.
