The construction of the CIL plant is underway and exploration drilling activities for both underground and surface targets are in progress.
The contract for the development of the open pit is expected to be awarded within the next week. Operations will initially focus on extraction of transitional and sulphide ore. This will be processed through the existing mill flotation plant with the tails being stored for processing when the CIL plant comes online in November 2015.
An extensive program of drilling has commenced at Mineral Hill targeting mineralisation at Pearse, Pearse North, Red Terror, Jacks Hut and the Southern Ore Zone. The work is aimed at supporting Mineral Resource upgrades and further defining planned production sources beyond 2016 at KBL's flagship NSW operation.
The profit for the half year at Mineral Hill was mainly driven by lower site costs, higher productivity from a smaller workforce and improved ore quality, costs were reduced largely as a consequence of the workforce restructure completed during 2013 and changes to supply and contractor charges.
