The China CleanTech Index fell slightly in April 2013 to consolidate some of the strong gains of the first quarter. Over the month, the Index outperformed only one of its four benchmarks.
The China CleanTech Index rose from 37.6 to 40.2 over the month of February recording a 6.9% gain. This compared to the NEX gain of 2.1%, the CTIUS gain of 1.9%, the Shanghai Composite loss of 0.9% and the MSCI which was unchanged over the month. The three month gain for the China CleanTech Index now stands at 33.6%.
The China CleanTech 20 also recorded a strong gain of 5.9% for the month.

Asian Activities Report for December 22, 2011 includes: Sumitomo Corporation (TYO:8053) and J-Power Systems Corporation have been awarded a joint contract worth 31 billion yen for a submarine power cable project in Taiwan; Huaneng Power International, Inc. (HKG:0902) (SHA:600011) (NYSE:HNP) has received government approvals for its Huaneng Chongqing Liang Jiang Gas-fired Combined Cooling-Heating-Power Project; Yaskawa Electric Corporation (TYO:6506) has decided to establish a robot manufacturing subsidiary in Jiangsu Province, China, to expand the company's current robot production capacity.
Asian shares delivered a positive opening this morning. The Asian bourses were higher in thin trade on the last day of 2009 as commodity prices rose and China pledged to maintain policies that helped pull the world economy out of recession. For the year, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index added 52%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index gained 31% in 2009 and Singapore was up 65 percent over the year. But Wall Street tumbled on the final trading day in 2009. Dow index remains down 26 per cent from its 2007 highs.
