Orissa Sponge Iron and Steel Ltd

Orissa Sponge Iron and Steel Ltd is an India-based, commercial-scale, coal-based sponge iron plant. The plant went into commercial production in 1984, with process technology from Allis Chalmers Corporation of United States using 80% coal and 20% oil. The process technology was later modified and developed to use 100% coal and is known as OSIL PROCESS. The OSIL PROCESS uses coal with high ash content and low fixed carbon.

Asian Markets Overview of February 9

Asian shares are set to gain on Monday after a rally on Wall Street last Friday. Japan's Nikkei average is also expected to be buoyed by exporters on a weaker yen. Asian shares rallied across the region Friday with shipping stocks leading for another day and miners rising on hopes that demand for commodities might be picking up. The Shanghai Composite Index rallied 4%, delivering its best performance of the week while China-related shares also lifted the market in Hong Kong.
