Asian markets closed mostly higher on Wednesday as materials shares were boosted by strong commodities prices. Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.3 percent as exporters gained on strong U.S. data and weakness in yen against greenback. But the rises were pulled back by a drop in shares of Toyota Motor Corp after its recall woes hit its sales. South Korea's Kospi added 1.2%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 2.2% and China's Shanghai Composite gained 2.4%.
Asian shares were mostly steady on Tuesday after significant rebounds in the previous trading session. Yesterday the Dow index concluded the last trading day of November in positive territory. It was its fifth consecutive monthly gain, despite a bad news from Dubai.
Asian major indexes were higher Friday after a late-day recovery in the U.S. market. Japan's Nikkei 225 closed up 0.96%, while Korea's Kospi ended 0.5% higher. Shanghai Composite surged 3% to over 2300 points, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index added 2.47% and Taiwan's main index up 2.1%.
Asian markets ended mixed Tuesday as and financial stocks gained but property developers lost ground on a weak outlook for prices.
