Kia Motors Corporation is a Korea-based manufacturer specialized in the provision of automobiles. Headquartered in Seoul, Korea, the Company provides its products under three categories: sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and multipurpose vehicles (MPVs), passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles. Its SUVs and MPVs include leisure vehicles under the brand name Carens, Carnival, Sportage and Sorento. Its passenger vehicles include passenger cars under the brand name Picanto, Rio, Cerato, Magentis, Optima, Opirus and Amanti. Its commercial vehicles include trucks under the brand name Bongo. The Company also offers concept vehicles and automobile parts. The Company’s products are distributed in both domestic and overseas markets. During the year ended December 31, 2007, the Company had an actual production output of 1,118,582 vehicles.

Wall Street overnight gained for an eighth consecutive session with a low trading volume. Thursday US weekly jobless claims data and core consumer prices in February provided mild support for the market. Most Asian markets declined yesterday. Japanese exporters were hurt by the weakness in euro against yen. Nikkei 225 lost nearly 1.0 per cent, and South Korea's Kospi dropped 0.5 per cent. Hong Kong and mainland China markets gave up their early gains to close lower on Thursday on renewed fears that China might take further measure to control the pace of bank lending. Shanghai composite closed down 0.14 percent, while Hang Seng Index fell 0.25 percent.
