In addition to this first coal acquisition in South Africa, the Company will continue to build up its production and resource base in order to become a significant supplier to the steel and energy markets. Coal assets for the supply of energy markets will be brought into the Company where London Mining's development experience can be easily applied in order to generate near-term and expanding cash flow and value for shareholders.
London Mining Plc London Mining is pleased to announce that its Brazilian subsidiary, London Mining Brasil Mineracao S.A. ('LMB'), has entered into a short-term contract with Vale (Companhia Vale Do Rio Doce) for the sale of up to 1.1 million tonnes of sinter fines. LMB expects to have fulfilled its obligations under this contract by the end of January 2009. The detailed terms of the agreement are confidential.
London Mining Plc London Mining is pleased to announce that it has revised its mineral resources on its Central (DNPM 13.845/67) and Eastern (DNPM 830.316/79) Claims at its wholly owned iron ore mine in Brazil. Total Mineral Resources at the project now stand at 1.058 billion tonnes grading 37.94% Fe, with a Fe content of 401.5 million tonnes.
London Mining Plc London Mining is pleased to announce that it has given go-ahead for the El Artillero project in Mexico to start production and export of iron ore concentrates. London Mining will commit up to USD7 million in debt finance for the project, and has also increased its interest in Anglo Mexican Mining Ltd, the 98 percent owner of the project, from 49 to 53 percent.
