Orion Gold NL (ASX:ORN) is pleased to advise that it has identified a number of new exploration targets within its extensive 4,500km2 Fraser Range landholding in Western Australia, and progressed several existing targets, through the application of state-of-the-art exploration methodologies.
On 2 January 2012, Orion Gold NL (ASX:ORN) confirmed that Queensland Mining Corporation (ASX:QMN) had met the second earn in criteria pursuant to an exploration joint venture agreement entered into between Goldstar Resources NL (the predecessor to Orion) and Matrix Metals Limited (ASX:MRX) dated 29 November 2006 which was subsequently assigned by Matrix Metals Limited to QMC pursuant to a deed of assumption and assignment (the Agreement).

Queensland Mining Corporation Limited (ASX:QMN) is pleased to announce that encouraging drill assay results have been received from its first RC drill program focused on the Black Fort prospect. This prospect is within the Orion JV over EPM 17602, which replaces EPM 13625 and EPM 13922 and covers a total area of approximately 250km2.
Queensland Mining Corporation Ltd (ASX:QMN) is pleased to announce that drilling has commenced at the Black Fort prospect within the Orion joint venture (JV). The prospect is located about 45km south-southwest of Cloncurry in NW Queensland.
Yesterday Australian shares ended lower as the resources sector was dragged by the dropping commodities prices. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 share index closed down 85.4 points, or 2.3%, at 3694.3, and the broader All Ordinaries index was 84.6 points lower, or 2.3%, at 3643.6. Investors forecast the economic downturn may not change in a short term with more staff layoff and grim corporate results coming.
