Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) is a diversified financial institution. CIBC was formed through the amalgamation of The Canadian Bank of Commerce and Imperial Bank of Canada. CIBC is a diversified financial institution, offering a range of financial products and services to clients in Canada. In the United States and in certain other countries, the Company offers a limited range of products to certain clients. CIBC has two business lines: CIBC Retail Markets and CIBC World Markets. These business lines are supported by five functional groups: Administration, Technology and Operations; Corporate Development; Legal and Regulatory Compliance; Finance, and Risk Management. On December 22, 2006, CIBC obtained control of FirstCaribbean International Bank (FirstCaribbean) by acquiring 90% of Barclays Bank PLC’s (Barclays) interest in FirstCaribbean, which represented a further 39.3% ownership interest.
