Brisbane, Sep 1, 2014 AEST (ABN Newswire) - Central Petroleum Limited (googlechartASX:CTP) provides a market update in relation to the Mt Kitty, Southern Georgina Joint Venture and NW Mereenie projects.

Mt Kitty

Santos as operator of the Southern Amadeus joint Venture advises that wireline logging at Mt Kitty will commence tomorrow. Central is pleased that the MT Kitty discovery will be further evaluated during this operation.

Southern Georgina Joint Venture

In order to ensure that the 2 well programme is completed before the wet season arrives the rig will be moved to Gaudi 1 location and should spud towards the middle of this month and work at Whitely will be suspended pending the arrival of a liner to solve hole problems at Whiteley and completion of Gaudi 1.

NW Mereenie

Santos has advised that it does not intend to proceed to Stage 2 of the NW Mereenie portion of the Santos farm in but instead concentrate on the Southern Amadeus and Mt Kitty.
