Kingsoft (HKG:3888) Teams Up With Taobao, Alipay & Maxthon To Form The First Safe Online Shopping Platform in China

This collaboration would help Kingsoft extend its internet security products to the fast-growing online shopping market to attract more users and enlarge market share. Maxthon Browser will be equipped with a plugin of Kingsoft WebShield, one of the Company's internet security products. Once the plugin is installed, after opening a browser, users are immediately under the protection of Kingsoft WebShield, including anti-spy, anti-fraudulent websites, anti-virus and etc. Since its release at the end of November, Kingsoft WebShield 3.0 has had over ten million installations. Kingsoft WebShield and Alipay will mutually share the database of fraudulent websites. Alipay will send the list of fraudulent websites, provided by users or automatically detected by system, to Kingsoft WebShield. Kingsoft WebShield will also send its latest list to Alipay on a daily basis. As such, both parties can guard against fraudulent websites swiftly. These two lines of defence enormously strengthened the security of online shopping without affecting website browsing.
